June 3, 2016

Wow, what a week! It was so insane, I really dont remember half of what happened but I will try to type it out and hopefully it will come to me...yosh.

ALRIGHT! So the crazy miracle of this week was on sunday when we had Miyata san randomly come to church! HUGE MIRACLE! We met him on friday on the street, we had a good contact and exchanged numbers, he was down to meet but said that he was going to italy on tuesday so we probably wouldnt be able to meet until after! But afterward when he was looking at our flier that we gave him, he remembered a lot of the christian teachings he had heard from his mother, and felt guilt for some bad stuff he had done in his life. And he came to church, and said "after we met I feel like I need to repent" LIKE WHAT?? no one in japan even knows the word repent, and he not only knows it, he wants to do it! We had a really great lesson with him, and he is truly so prepared for this message. He is a wayyyy cool 30 year old, so keep Miyata in your prayers!

Then we had transfers this week as well, it was way fun! Got to see all kinds of missionaries I havent seen in a long time and this mission is changing A LOT! Which is way cool, its like a fresh start! I love it!

This week we had the opportunity to go to the temple which was amazing! It was an enlightening time and I felt a lot of things that helped me focus, and helped me understand where and how I can improve at this time on my mission! I love every second of my mission and feel blessed beyond belief to be here. Especially in the greatest mission out there!

I also have the greatest companion ever, Elder Pettit, from Riverside California! He is a stud, we are having an absolute blast together, he is teaching me so much every single day and I am way grateful to learn from him!

Love you all so much,

SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO MY MOM FOR HER BIRTHDAY LAST WEEK! The big 2-0! Love you lots momma! Couldnt be more blessed, I have the best mom in the whole entire world!

Fastest week ever! Can not believe that it is already saturday again.....still weird emailing on saturday as well hahaha

This week was a lot of fun, I had to go to the DMV a lot, in order to get a license here in Japan you have to be perfect...literally...it is way hard. I have tried two times. the first time was way rough, the second time I felt soooo good. And then he failed me for the tiniest little things. They are way strict, and so I am going to have to study up some more before we try again next week...pray for me!

We also have had a lot of fun little things going down around here, meeting with some amazing missionaries. The crazy thing we had this week though was an amazing missionary conference from Elder Cook. He shared some amazingly powerful testimonies, and taught us simply 4 basic principles that he wanted us to understand,
1. We are branch builders 2. We succeed when we invite regardless of the outcome 3. You are the message 4. Focus our spiritual power on teaching and planning.

It was amazing and as I have been trying to apply those four points to myself I have felt a lot of help in what has been a really overwhelming time for me. The Lord knew exactly what I needed. At the end of the meeting as Elder Cook was closing with his testimony, he bore a powerful witness that he and all of the members of the quorum of the twelve had powerful experiences that gave them a knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ. And he ended by saying "I know the Saviors voice, and I know his face" the Spirit in the room was so strong. He truly is a prophet, seer, and revelator. And it was amazing to have such a special opportunity to hear from him!

The Japan Fukuoka mission is a sacred and special mission. I am proud to be here.

This week has been full of lots of random little things keeping us busy, you probably aren't too interested but it is fun that really matters!

Love you all so much, thank you for all of your support and prayers!

ps. get to go to the driving range with Egan kaicho here in a little bit...PUMPED

HELLO EVERYONE!!

Probably wondering why I am emailing on saturday, I just got emergency transferred the area over and the p-day here is on saturdays! It was way easy transfer, just a five minute car ride :)

This week was pretty fun, exciting! I love it here in Fukuoka and am way excited that I get to stay here longer, my new companion is the amazing Elder Pettit, he is my senpai from the MTC so it is way good to work and learn a lot from him, he is a way solid example to me. I am going to be able to learn so much more from him. I know that I have a lot to improve but this is a way good time for me to learn!

It is super easy to change when things around me are changing so this is the perfect time! Love the Lords gospel, and the ability that comes with it to change and to improve.

I have been really grateful for President Egan a lot, he is amazing, and just a spiritual giant he teaches us so well and loves us so much. He always knows how to help us in our hardest times, he is truly who the Lord has called to help this mission at this time I know that is true.

I miss my old companion Elder Gatherum a ton, he is a solid missionary who understands his purpose and does work, he taught me a lot. I am very grateful for him and his example!

Love this work so much!

You all are the best!

SOOOOO FUN AND SO MANY MIRACLES!

First off, yesterday at church a member shows up with two friends, and after sacrament said will you teach them a lesson??? YES! We taught them, they are amazing, so interested and one accepted a baptismal date and the other said that he really wanted to learn more before he came to that decision! LIKE WHAT??? The Lord will always provide miracles to accomplish our goals. It was amazing how kind the Lord is.

On Thursday I got to go on splits with another missionary which was way fun! He is Brazilian so he had a lot of energy and it was cool to go out and work with him! The big city is just so crazy, you meet so many awesome people! I love this life!

I have been thinking a lot this week about effectiveness with time, how this time isn't my time at all it is the Lords time and we need to use it to the best of our abilities, to accomplish what the Lord wants us to accomplish! But sometimes it is hard, because it feels like there is always so much to do. I was reading something from a general authority the other day, and he said those who exude the light of Christ, always seem like they have a lot of time to accomplish everything and I wanna be someone like that, and I think it is through using the Lords time as effectively as possible! Then he makes it seem like we have more than we do!

We also have a mission conference this week with Elder Cook of the quorum of the twelve, I AM SO EXCITED! It is going to be a good time for me to receive revelation on a lot of things in the mission!

Love you all,

Love this work,

Love the Lord,

Elder Krebs

WOWZERS! Happy Mother's Day to the most beautiful, perfect, amazing, Christ like mother in the whole entire world! Mama Krebs! So grateful for my mother and how perfect she is, and all of her hard work to raise a rascal like me! LOVE YOU MAMA!

This week was great! It was a week of Nepalese people! We were able to meet with an amazing person who we met like two weeks ago, he wasn't that interested but we met him a week later on the street again. Which is crazy because of how huge Fukuoka is! And he was like, "This is crazy, here is my phone number lets meet again" so we did on Sunday night, and we were able to set up a baptismal date with him. And give him a Book of Mormon in his native language, it was amazing to see the Lord preparing him in so many different ways!

We also met another Nepalese man, who set up an appointment with us, because he had recently started studying Christianity and was really interested and said he loved what he was studying and wanted to learn more...WHAT THE FLIP! Gonna be a Nepalese Ward here soon enough :)

Konomi is still doing well, she is progressing towards her baptismal date on the 21st right now. Just helping build up her faith and all kinds of other good stuff! It is amazing to see the Lord blessing her as she receives answers to her prayers!

Love this work so much, grateful for my amazing family that I got to chat with this morning!

Love you all tons,

Elder Krebs

So, I am getting transferred to the mission home, so I will have my p-day on Saturdays from now on, just so you know for next week!

President Egan has gone crazy apparently and asked me to be the new assistant in the mission, I am freaking out a little bit, and definitely starting to notice a lot of my weaknesses. So if you have any advice for me that would be amazing, I go into the office on Thursday morning and jump right into transfers and everything! I am excited for the opportunity to learn a lot, but also flipping out a little bit. Advice from parents and siblings would be much appreciated so if you could send this to my siblings that would be awesome! Don't tell anyone else though, secret!

Well it hasn't been a full week! We got to go to the temple this week! So p-day is today!

We have been all over the place this week! But it is nice being in the middle of everything because we don't have to ride trains it's just like a five minute bike ride everywhere we go. :) we got to go to an amazing training from kaicho on Tuesday! About rededicating ourselves! And our mission! President Egan just has so much love for the mission and for all the missionaries, makes me want to be better every single day!!

We also had ZTM which was amazing! The sister training leaders did an amazing training that stuck with me a lot about having obedience being our foundation then the building is confidence. And then boldness is the peak! It was way cool! We are ready to go out and party and work hard as a Fukuoka zone gonna see tons of baptisms! It's the lords time for Fukuoka right now!

We had some good lessons as well this week! Don't have a ton of time but love you all so much thanks for all of your amazing examples! Pray super hard for konomi San to be baptized on the 7th! She is doing well!! Love this work and love the Lords children!!

Love,

Elder Krebs

What a great week!!

Had a blast this week, supppppper busy with transfers and all kinds of fun stuff! But I am now safely in Fukuoka! And it is crazy, I compare it to rice#Asia. YamaGUCCI was like one grain of rice, and Fukuoka is like a ten kilogram bag of it. There are people everywhere! And it is amazing, so many people with willing and open hearts! Already seeing a ton of miracles with the current investigators we have here and with new investigators we have been able to find!

My companion is Elder Gatherum from Orem Utah! He is literally the bestest! We are having a blast, both wanting to improve and do our best and work hard! It is such a blast, I miss elder Hanley a ton, but he has a good companion now with Elder Davies so I am sure he is enjoying it!

It is a blast in the apartment, there are 4 of us In a house! A HOUSE!!! Yes!!! It is so nice, way fun! So much room!

We have an amazing investigator right now named Konomi shimai, she is literally the cutest grandma! She is getting baptized on 5/7, she is so amazing and excited for her baptism. So cute believes everything we have taught her and just accepts it all, loves reading the BoM and praying she is just so adorable!! So please pray for her!

This week for p-day we went to this way cool cave, it was a blast! So much fun, and just gorgeous! Way great day I will post some pictures below! I can't believe how much beauty the Lord created in this world and I just love being able to see the beautiful things he has created for us! It is amazing to think how much work went into creating this beautiful world, and how he created it all for us. He truly is our perfect Heavenly Father!

Also a quick congratulations to My brother John for his graduation!! And also to my Sister Laura for her new baby Greta! Love seeing those pictures of these beautiful babies!

Love you all so much,

Elder Krebs

WHAT A WEEK!

Hahahahaha we had some pretty interesting and amazing experiences this week, so sorry if this email is a little all over the place! Just so everyone knows the mission here is completely okay from the earthquake, the area of Kumamoto where it hit the hardest is pretty damaged but the missionaries are all serving like crazy out there! We just got a little bit of shaking here in Yamaguchi.

Then on Wednesday Elder Schuenman and I were going to be working together since our companions were with the District Leader going on splits with him. But we felt like we should go down to an area in the zone and go on splits with them which was a blast, it was POURING rain all day, and there was thunder and lighting, it was the first time I have seen lighting in Japan...crazy!

Then on Friday night there was this house that caught on fire near our apartment! What the heck! The world is going crazy here in Yamaguchi!

Miracle of the week!! So we got this referral from an area that had been calling people in their phone, so we called and went to visit him, and he literally said that He should be baptized! Like what???? It was amazing #blessings! So pray for Saktsugu San!

I love this work so much, I just got my transfer call and I will be leaving Yamagucchi and going to Fukuoka! It should be a lot of fun. President Egan knows that I need to be kept under good watch so he is putting me in Fukuoka ;)

Love you all so much,

Elder Krebs

We are safe and sound don't you worry!! Just felt a little bit of shaking up here, it was pretty exciting! The missionaries in Kumamoto where it hit the most were all okay! They are all safe and sound.

I just got my transfer call......FUKOKA! They are sending me to the big city to work down there! I am way excited, it is gonna be a blast, definitely a lot more stressful but it should be a good time! I am excited!

It has been amazing working here in Yamaguchi for so long, but gotta move on and grow ;) Elder Hanley is doing amazing, and he is going to be getting a great companion so he can finally learn something from a good companion, it has been amazing to see him change, everyone in the zone is always telling me how different he is now from what he was like when he first came in.

I will be praying for Laura that sounds rough, poor girl!

Love you tons,

Elder Krebs

Dear Parents,

We just wanted to reconfirm that there have been several earthquakes since the last email, but all of our missionaries are still safe and accounted for. The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are aware of the situation and have mentioned that we are in their prayers. Your missionaries will email you next week on Tuesday due to transfers next week. Thank you for all of your love, concern, and prayers in their behalf.

Sincerely,
Japan Fukuoka Mission Office
